Russian studio Nashe Kino announces comedy sequel featuring the internet character Zhdun, set to hit theaters on April 30, 2026

The Russian film company Nashe Kino has announced a sequel to the comedy about the well‑known internet character Zhdun. The studio revealed initial details about the new installment and confirmed that the picture is scheduled to be released in Russian cinemas on April 30, 2026.

In the follow‑up, Zhdun returns to Earth with the mission of finding his friend Nikita, who is spending the summer at a children’s camp. The visitor’s arrival coincides with the emergence of hostile newcomers intent on interfering in the lives of the camp’s inhabitants. To fend off these intruders, the characters must join forces with Nikita’s sister, their grandfather and the camp staff.

Director Dmitry Suvorov said the sequel will be grander and more vivid than the first film while preserving the spirit of friendship and kindness that made the character beloved by audiences. The production aims to expand the scale of the story without losing the core emotional tone.

The cast of the new film includes Karen Arutyunov, Andrey Andreev, Margarita Silaeva, Vladislav Vetrov and Nikita Tarasov. The ensemble is supplemented by additional performers such as Aleksandr Revva, Elena Valyushkina, Sergey Chirkov and others, joining the project to round out the supporting roles.
