World of Warcraft: Midnight — New Expansion Raises Level Cap to 90, Adds Kharanir Elves, Housing and Continues the Worldsoul Saga

Blizzard has released a major new expansion for World of Warcraft entitled Midnight. Players who purchased the Deluxe edition were granted early access to the add-on beginning February 27, allowing them to begin exploring its new content ahead of the wider launch.

With Midnight the maximum character level has been raised to 90. The expansion introduces a new playable race, the Kharanir elves, and includes updates and complete reworks for a number of in-game zones. These changes affect environments, questlines and level progression, aiming to refresh areas for both new and returning players.

A prominent new feature is a player housing system that lets characters customize and furnish private homes. The system supports community play: members of the same guild can establish residences near one another, enabling social hubs and coordinated group activity centered around personal housing areas.

Midnight continues the Worldsoul Saga that began in 2024 with the expansion The War Within. The trilogy is set to conclude with The Last Titan, currently planned for release in 2028. The central narrative of the new expansion follows an invasion by Xal'Atath, the Herald of the Void, into the Forest of Eternal Song, the ancestral home of the blood elves, setting up new conflicts and story developments for players to experience.
