FOKUS defeat Phantom 2-0 in overtime to claim the Urban Riga Open Season 3 title

FOKUS captured the Urban Riga Open Season 3 LAN title with a 2-0 victory over Phantom, prevailing in two tense maps that both required extra time: Ancient finished 22-20 and Nuke ended 16-13.

The final stood out for the absence of the tournament favorites, 3DMAX, who were ousted by Phantom in the semi-finals. Because the pre-tournament frontrunners were eliminated, the grand final had little impact on the VRS race for IEM Cologne Major qualification, as neither FOKUS nor Phantom are close enough in the rankings to alter that picture.

The win gave an enormous boost to FOKUS in the ranking system: the newly formed squad, active for roughly a month, added 310 points to reach a total of 1,217 and jumped 78 positions to 53rd in the rankings. Phantom earned 72 points for their run, taking them to 1,125 points and 82nd place.

On their way to the final, FOKUS defeated OlyBet and Wildcard in the playoff bracket. Phantom eliminated ASTRAL before upsetting 3DMAX in the semi-finals to secure their spot in the championship match.

Despite their semi-final exit, 3DMAX still left the event with positive ranking movement. The team picked up 16 points, bringing their total to 1,408 and moving them up one place to 20th overall.

FOKUS demonstrated strong results on LAN for the second consecutive event: after a 7–8th finish at Parken Challenge earlier, the team backed that up by winning in Riga. Their next big assignment will be PGL Bucharest, which begins on April 4, having clinched qualification through the European closed qualifier.

The grand final was played as a best-of-three and took place on 24th March 2026. Map one, Ancient, extended into overtime and finished 22–20 in favor of FOKUS. Map two, Nuke, was decided 16–13, securing the series sweep.

Individual performances underlined FOKUS’s success. Matias 'Banjo' Kivistö led the team with a 71–45 K–D, an ADR of 101.8, a 76.1% KAST and a match rating of 1.62.
