Patch 7.41 for Dota 2 introduces nine new items — four basic components and five combined artifacts — plus neutral rotation and other balance changes

Valve's 7.41 update for Dota 2 brings nine new items to the in-game shop: four fresh basic components and five assembled items with unique passive and active effects. The patch also adjusts neutral item rotation, alters crafting rules for some artifacts, tweaks other existing items and removes at least one legacy item from the game.

New basic components included in the patch are: Chasm Stone (cost 800) — grants +40 to area-of-effect bonus; Shawl (cost 450) — provides 10% magic resistance; Splintmail (cost 950) — gives +7 armor; and Wizard Hat (cost 250) — adds +125 mana.

The first assembled item, Consecrated Wraps, is built from a Vitality Booster, Shawl, Crown and a recipe for a total cost of 2,600 gold. It grants +15% magic resistance, +250 health and +6 to all attributes. Its passive, Hallowed, grants the wearer one stack every 3 seconds up to a maximum of three stacks. If the holder takes damage from a unit controlled by a player or from Roshan, all stacks are consumed to create a barrier for 7 seconds that absorbs 120 damage per stack (up to 360 total).

Crella's Crozier combines Ghost Scepter, Soul Booster and a recipe for a total cost of 4,800 gold. The item provides +6 to all attributes, +450 health and +450 mana. Its active, Rite of Rumusque, places the user into a spectral form for 4 seconds: the carrier becomes immune to physical damage and loses the ability to attack, while becoming 30% more vulnerable to magic damage. While active, the item applies a movement speed reduction to enemy heroes within 900 radius: each second it applies a 5% slow that lasts 1.5 seconds; these slow instances stack and refresh when new ones are applied. The active does not cost mana and has a 20-second cooldown. The spectral form and any stolen movement speed effects can be dispelled. Crella's Crozier also has a passive aura, Putrefaction Aura, which reduces nearby enemy heroes' health regeneration by 30%; while Rite of Rumusque is active this penalty increases to 75% and the lost health is transferred to the Crozier's owner. The aura radius is 900.

Essence Distiller is crafted from Urn of Shadows, Chainmail, Wizard Hat and a recipe for a total cost of 1,775 gold. It grants +1.75 mana regeneration, +3 to all attributes, +6 armor and +150 mana. Its active, Soul Release, has multiple uses: cast on an ally it grants +40 health regeneration (the buff is removed if the ally is attacked by Roshan or an enemy); cast on an enemy it deals 25 damage per second and grants vision over that target. Both ally and enemy effects last 8 seconds. Soul Release can also be placed on the ground as a dormant charge that triggers when the first enemy hero comes within 400 units; the triggered effect lasts 15 seconds and provides 400 vision. The item has a 1,000 cast range, does not consume mana and has a 10-second cooldown. Charges accumulate similarly to Urn of Shadows, including gaining charges when enemy heroes die within 1,500 units.

Specialist's Array is assembled from Blade of Alacrity, Broadsword and a recipe for a total cost of 2,550 gold. It provides +20 attack damage and +12 agility. The passive, Splitshot, is available only to ranged heroes: with a 30% chance an attack fires additional projectiles that can hit up to two nearest enemies (that are not the primary target) in a 120-degree cone in front of the wielder and within attack range +150. These extra projectiles deal 20 plus 75% of the normal attack damage and do not trigger on-hit effects; when Splitshot procs the primary attack deals an additional +20 damage. Specialist's Array does not stack with other abilities or items that grant extra projectiles, notably those of Gyrocopter, Medusa and Muerta.

Hydra's Breath builds from Specialist's Array, Dragon Lance and Orb of Venom plus a recipe, for a total cost of 5,900 gold. It grants +25 attack damage, +30 agility, +15 strength and +150 attack range (range bonus applies only to ranged heroes). The item includes two passives: Miasma — attacks apply a poison that deals magical damage equal to 2.5% of the target's maximum health each second for 3 seconds (the duration refreshes on reapplication); this effect does not affect illusions or Roshan — and Polycephaly — a ranged proc similar to Splitshot with a 30% chance to fire projectiles at up to three nearby enemies (not the primary target) in a 120-degree cone and within attack range +150. Those additional projectiles deal 20 plus 75% of the normal attack damage, do not trigger on-hit effects except for Miasma, and when Polycephaly procs the main attack gains +20 damage.

In addition to these new items, Valve updated the neutral item rotation to include new artifacts and modified aspects of how some crafting works. The patch also alters a number of other combined items and removes Eternal Shroud from the game. Several legacy features referred to as aspects were also removed in this update.
