Bungie has released an official, shortened version of a musical piece associated with its upcoming game Marathon. The track, titled "Code Race", has been used in the game’s promotional materials and is now available in a two‑minute form put out by the developer.
An extended nine‑minute version of the composition first appeared in spring 2025, and the piece has since been featured repeatedly in materials promoting the title. The newly issued edit is presented as an official cut, intended to represent the theme more concisely.
The music for Marathon is created by Ryan Lott, a member of the band Son Lux. The two‑minute release is likely to be one of the selections included in a full soundtrack album that Bungie may issue alongside or after the game’s launch.
Marathon is scheduled to release on March 5 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Bungie’s step to publish an official version of "Code Race" formalizes a musical element that has been part of the title’s public identity since early previews.
