The price of Avowed on PlayStation 5 turned out to be lower than on other platforms. After announcing a PlayStation 5 version, developer Obsidian adjusted the game's pricing and reduced the cost of the title for all platforms.
On PlayStation 5 the standard edition of Avowed is now priced at $50, while the premium edition costs $60. This reduction is not exclusive to Sony's console: the same prices have been applied across the Xbox Store and Steam, where the game’s price has been lowered on a permanent basis.
The release of the PS5 version will coincide with a substantial update scheduled for February 17. That patch will introduce several notable additions, including a New Game Plus mode, a new weapon type, a photo mode, additional playable races for character creation, and a range of other improvements.
In New Game Plus players will retain their progress and character development, but encounters will be more challenging: enemies will become tougher and gain modifiers that change combat tactics, altering how players approach fights and strategy.
Overall, Obsidian's simultaneous platform price adjustment and the planned February update aim to refresh the experience for both new and returning players while aligning pricing and feature rollout across consoles and PC.
